Europe / Европа
European countries and transcontinental states, compared by full land area rather than by the European part alone. Circle area equals catalog land area. The picture is not a map of the region.
How to read it. Radius is sqrt(area / pi) times the site display scale. Pan, zoom, and hide labels with Aa. Overlap is avoided by packing, so two circles touch because of their sizes, not because the countries share a border.
51 places. Largest: Russian Federation (16 376 870 km²). Next: Kazakhstan (2 699 700 km²). Smallest: Gibraltar (10 km²). Combined catalog area 25 792 977 km².
Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia are included as one circle each, using the whole country. Greenland is in the Americas world. The European Union row is omitted so member states are not counted twice. Monaco is in the catalog with area 0, so it is not drawn. Source: legacy RoundObject country areas. For every catalog country at once, open the All countries world.
