Solar system / Солнечная система

The eight planets of the Solar System, compared by equatorial diameter. Distances from the Sun are not shown.

How to read it. The circle’s diameter matches the catalog diameter in kilometres (Wikidata P2386). Radius on screen is half of that diameter times the display scale. Jupiter is not drawn farther from the centre than Mercury; packing only stops the circles overlapping. This is not an orrery.

Order by diameter: Jupiter 142 984 km, Saturn 120 536 km, Uranus 51 118 km, Neptune 49 528 km, Earth 12 742 km, Venus 12 104 km, Mars 6 758 km, Mercury 4 878 km. Largest is Jupiter (142 984 km), smallest is Mercury (4 878 km). Jupiter’s diameter in this set is about 29.3 times Mercury’s.

Left out on purpose. The Sun is not in the catalog; it would be roughly 109 Earth diameters and would hide every planet. Pluto, Ceres and the other dwarf planets have no matching row. Earth’s Moon is in the Moons world. Thousands of exoplanets that Wikidata also labels as planets are excluded so this world stays the Solar System. Diameters are catalog values, not a new measurement.

По-русски. Восемь планет Солнечной системы, сравнение по экваториальному диаметру. Расстояния до Солнца не показаны: это не схема орбит.

Диаметр круга равен диаметру из каталога (Wikidata, свойство P2386). По убыванию: Jupiter 142 984 km, Saturn 120 536 km, Uranus 51 118 km, Neptune 49 528 km, Earth 12 742 km, Venus 12 104 km, Mars 6 758 km, Mercury 4 878 km.
